Photography Workshop
The Frank Lloyd Wright Trust is a collaborating partner for the Driehaus Museum’s exhibition Photographing Frank Lloyd Wright.
Using the exhibition Photographing Frank Lloyd Wright as inspiration, guests will learn what it takes to compose great architectural photos from a practicing photographer in this workshop co-hosted by the Driehaus Museum and Frank Lloyd Wright Trust. Wright’s groundbreaking architecture was expertly recorded by photographers throughout his career, with each artist injecting their own style into the portrayal of Wright’s work. In this workshop, guests will engage in a discussion about photographic artistry with photographer Jonathan Michael Castillo, practice setting up shots, and finally take time to capture the unique architecture of the Driehaus Museum or Rookery light court. Join us to hone your photo skills and find your own artistic vision.
Please note: This workshop will be offered two times.
On November 9, it will be offered at the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust’s Rookery location (209 S. LaSalle St.)
On November 16, it will be offered at the Driehaus Museum (50 E. Erie St.).
Both sessions will be administered by a single instructor and will feature the same instruction.
About the Instructor: Jonathan Michael Castillo is a visual artist, photographer and educator based in Chicago. He was the 2019-2021 recipient of the Diane Dammeyer Fellowship in Photographic Arts and Social Issues.
